The Ardingly Inn Golf Society was founded in 2004 by a group of regulars at the Inn, headed by the landlord Darren Yates, who wanted to play competitive golf on a regular basis throughout the year, and which would also include a social element.

The Society plays on average four times a year at different golf courses in the Sussex/Surrey area. There are different prizes for each tournament, overall winner, second and third, best high handicap winner, nearest the pin, and longest drive.

There are currently 34 members who pay a yearly subscription, together with a tournament fee for each golf day which usually includes breakfast at the Inn, coach to the course, tea or coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf and then a dinner at the Golf Club. It is a great opportunity to play at different golf courses and for golfers of all abilities, the serious and the not so serious! The Society is open to men and women.

The Committee currently consists of Captain Darren Yates, Secretary Bryn Pryce-Jones, and Treasurer Ann Tate. The Committee would welcome all interested golfers who would enjoy playing at wonderful local courses and socialising with like minded people (as long as you want to talk about golf!). Anyone interested should contact Darren at the Inn on 01444-892214.
